No Substitute for Handwashing

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that hand washing is the single most important prevention step for reducing disease transmission.

They also offer the following guidelines:
  • Liquid soap dispensed by a hand or foot pump is recommended.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizers can be used if soap and water cannot be made available and are effective against multiple common disease agents (e.g., shiga toxin-producing E. coliSalmonella, and Campylobacter). However, they are ineffective against certain organisms (e.g., bacterial spores, Cryptosporidium, and certain viruses).
  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with a concentration of 60% or higher to be effective against common disease agents.
  • Hand sanitizers are less effective if hands are visibly soiled. Therefore, visible contamination and dirt should be removed to the extent possible before using hand sanitizers.

Since the H1N1 flu virus has run rampant, hand washing and hand sanitizers are getting a lot of attention. Yay for that! I've always been amazed as a former teacher that other teachers I have worked with did not stress the importance of washing hands. Kids love to wash their hands! Something about the  goey, slimy soap, caressing their palms and slithering away the dirt and oil, makes them so happy.
I'm so excited to finally be bringing you Organic Liquid Hand Soap in 5 blends:
Lavender Lime
Tea Tree and Mint
Geranium Mint
Clementine & Ylang Ylang
Unscented

A luxurious pampering and moisturizing hand cleanser filled with antibacterial properties, this hand wash will leave your hands clean without stripping them of needed moisture.
Did you know that essential oils have natural anti-bacterial properties? This helps fight the bad germs, while leaving in place the good germs that help form natural defenses against viruses.
Try some Organic Liquid Hand Soap today. It comes in a cute little pump dispenser that looks adorable perched upon your bathroom sink. And not to mention these new blends smell divine and will have all your houseguests oohing and awwing.

All about Pumpkins

It's not even October yet and I'm already dreaming of the upcoming adventure with the fam to a pumpkin patch. I just love using those beauties to adorn our home during the fall season.
The beautiful glow of pumpkins that brightens up the seasons is not the only thing that has me in a tizzy lately, but it's making skincare products using beautiful Pumpkin Seed Oil. In the below photo of the three different oils, Pumpkin Seed Oil is the darker one in the back. (Olive on the left, Sunflower on the right)

Pumpkin Seed Oil  is an excellent source of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins. Packed with Vitamins A, E, and Zinc, it contains the precious Omegas 3 and 6 that make the skin soft and supple, strengthening the skin to help hide lines and wrinkles. You just know that something amazing has to be coming from the certified organic deep, emerald green oil (aka "Green Gold") that looks this gorgeous.

It's so beautiful, in fact, I had to add it to something else, so it's now a happy camper in the Lip Dream. If you have been a Lip Dream fan over the years you're going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the addition of the Pumpkin Seed Oil. Best of all, we add this oil in last, so it's not affected by the heat to bring you the greatest benefits.
